I met local author Ren Cummins at Steamcon 2012 and he gave my partner and I the first book of his YA series, Reaper’s Return. I picked it up the other night and couldn’t stop reading it, and while reading it I couldn’t shake the urge to draw the main character, Rom. Soon as I got the chance I sat down and whipped this out. Originally she was standing with a rat, but then I remembered what nargyle said in regards to her character’s poses (“If you think it’s dynamic enough, it’s not” or something along those lines), and I was like fuck static poses Rom’s a little dynamo. So I decided she ought to be leaping instead. Hur hur hur. Anyway, it was a fun exercise, and probably the first time I picked up watercolors since August. It. Felt. Good.
Some quick holiday draws for Many Hats Online because seasonal art is fun. We will be taking a brief hiatus until next week, but I’m still making a bunch of art that I hope to share very soon!
