Season Finale
For my last RPDR S4 illustration I wanted to do something fun and dynamic. I drew inspirations from Anime like Sailor Moon considering the anime/video game influences in the Glamazon video, as well as the queens’ transformations. I represented both the queens’ runway looks, as well as their giant Glamazon monsters. Since the original images were pretty large I’ve also included some detail shots of the queens’ faces in this photoset. :D

The Glamazon Music Video
Since the music video drew so much inspiration from video games, I decided it would be fun to draw the queens as fighting-video game inspired pixel sprites!
Some pixel art of Phi Phi O’Hara as a sort of video game character for my Glamazon music video illustration. :)
(It is truly the best RPDR music video to come out of the finale challenge, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you should! I can’t wait to see the finale and the making of next week. * v *)

Episode 11 - The Fabulous Bitch Ball
I mentioned this earlier, but I really wanted to do something that was very Vogue/New Yorker/fashion-magazine-esque fashion illustration with washy colors and delicate lines for this episode. I feel like I could have been a bit more loose with the washes in these, but aside from that I think I accomplished that kind of imagery. Instead of using a brush or felt tip pen to do the line for this set of illustrations, I used pen + nib instead which allowed for not only more fine lines, but lines that were a bit more “alive”.

Episode 9 - Frock the Vote
This is a catch-up post a few weeks after the episode aired. My apologies for the delay, but here are my illustrations for Frock the Vote! I stuck to flat marker colors for this batch of illustrations to kind of mimic the simplicity and limited colors of political campaign posters.

Phi Phi O’Hara’s Inaugural gown.
Just like with Chad, some of the detail got lost in the scan but I think I managed to pull 90% of it out with some levels and curves adjustments. I love Phi Phi in a white gown, and this one was so elegant and pure I really wanted her to just kind of fade into white… I think it came together nicely.
