Cathartic doodles or “cathart” (I AM BEST AT PORTMANTEAU) from a few weeks ago. This is when I only had a red and teal marker with me and decided that drawing and shading with bold complimentary colors was a lot of fun and looked like something you’d need 3D glasses for.
Drawing my characters in weird/painful/crazy situations is more fun than it should be, but I’m also pretty sure that every artist who has OCs delights from the same thing.
My favorite remains the third here, in which Satic dares the Gourmand to eat her. And there are snakes.
Also this is what the Many Hats banner looked like at ECCC. We now have a vinyl banner with these beautiful smiling faces on it, to use again, and again, and again, and again, until it breaks or something dumbe.
The lines for Holly and Sam at the bottom were done by Hannako, and I drawded Professor and Joe and put down the colors for everyone.
Someone who saw the banner thought Joe was the antagonist. We should probs work on making less ornery looking characters but…it’s…so….fun….!!?
Some Seattle-centric drawings I made for half-size prints at Emerald City ComiCon featuring Many Hats characters.
I mostly didn’t share these previously because I was rather busy/frazzled with pre/post-con preparation and stress.
This is the pixel art that was used on the Many Hats book cover, featuring the main characters appearing in our current comics (and the comics printed in the book). For the cover, Sam (the hyena in the middle) was stretched out longer, to make sure he would wrap around the spine without anything getting cut off, but then resized to be normal.
I don’t know what it is with me and making pixels of Seattle/Space-Needle-themed stuff either, but it’s fun!
Oh, oh, this will also be available as a print at ECCC. ;D
Fun time color tests with Joe.
P.S. I hate the new Tumblr photoset upload option. Cries about it.
Here are some fun outlines for a thing.
Professor, Holly, Sam, and Joe. Holly and Sam were drawn by Hannako (the-hollowbones).
